An
extremely beautiful Yuan dynasty Blance-de-Chine (white glaze) vase
produced from Dehua, China dating to 14th century. Discovered from
excavation in Indonesia .
Motif :-
Scroll
flora emboss motif at the body with moon carving pattern at the
foot base. The white glaze stop short near the foot rim, remain
natural orange colour firing red at the base. 2 visible joint lines
at the foot rim, sharp ring sound when tape at the body plus the
pure white glaze applied shown the maturity of workmanship and firing
technique in the olden day and also another authentication method
to Sung / Yuan artifacts.
Comment:-
The
vase has well proportion body and everted mouth rim which is rarely
found in complete condition. Minor scratched and oxidization found
near the edge of mouth rim and body joint line. I would said this
is truly beautiful white ware we have seen with no repair, hairline
and crack.
