A
very nice and oustanding globular jarlet of Longquan ware (Zhejiang)
probably from Southern Sung/ Yuan dynasty, 14th century, with a
narrow mouth and two small horizontal strap loop handles which are
fixed to the shoulder. Grey-green semi-opaque glaze with chrysanthenum
flora motif at the moulded surface. A join line at the center equator
can be seen which was the potting technique at that time. The unglaze
base shown the greyish biscuit where the concave is subtle. The
overall condition is very good except a minor glaze chip at the
rim. Normally, this is the type of jar found in the Philippines
and in South East Asia. Refer also shown in the book-CHINESE
