An undecorated Ming dynasty-15th
century Dehua white glaze vase, often referred as Blanc de
chine (literally White of China, a French name given
by Western trader). In 17th & 18th century, Western traders,
predominantly the Ducth East India Company, supplied the crowned
heads of Europe with this treasure white ware. Friedrich Augustus
I (Augustus the Strong, King of Poland, King of Saxony and Elector
of the Holy Roman Empire,AD1670-1733) amassed a collection of some
twelve hundred pieces in this treasure trove, the Johanneum in Dresden.
The condition of this vase is perfect
with absolutely no cracks, chips or repairs.
