A
very rare example of Liao dynasty amber glaze ware with mytical
bird motif form beneath the flora mouth rim. Slope from shoulder,
the glaze stop unevenly near to foot rim.
Reddish,
course and impurify clay visible from the unglaze foot rim and base.
This shortfall has been overcome by Liao potter by applying a white
slip on the pottery / porcelain before it was glazed which result
in better and more presentable product.
Excavation
artefact remain in its original unclean condition, very strong earth
smell when the unglaze base contact with water and is very good
water absorbtion. Well balance shape and comfortable to handle.
Slight mat glaze on part of the body. Under natural sun light,iridescent
visible on the shining glaze surface.
The
condition is almost excellent; 2 minute noted at rim, follow by
some scratches a one side of the shoulder (see detail photos). No
other hairline and restoration.

14/02/06, we have gently removed the dirt covered the bird motif
