Lustrous temmoku glaze
drinking vessel from the kilns of northern China in the shape of
a pilgrim’s bottle dated to Ming dynasty-15th century with
centre raised panels of “shou” character surrounding
by flora .
Delightful glaze shown orange-peeled
glaze turning to brown at the moutgh rim and part of the body. There
are 2 loops at the shoulder and 2 small holes near the foot rim
which ease for travelling by foot or horses during the early day.
The artefact shown excellent condition
except minor age glaze wear at foot rim otherwise perfect piece. |
