An impressive large
guan with Dragon motif dated to Late Yuan ~Early Ming period produced
from local kiln located in Yunnan province.There is a band of ruyi
at the mouth rim follow by ancient Chinese cash coin pattern decorated
around the neck while scroll flora motif along the slanting shoulder.
The body was fully
decorated with flying Dragon on the clouds. The vase has been joined
by glaze horizontally at neck,body and base. The is uneven glaze
pooling around the mouth rim. The internal side wall also partially
covered with glaze. Natural firing red visible at the edge of the
expose biscuit not cover by glaze. Soft texture glaze at the body.
Slightly discolouration which may cause my firing or temperature
control otherwise this is really an elegent piece. The shallow and
wide foot rim is slanting cut at the external. No chip, hairline
and restoration. |
