A beautiful and heavy stoneware dated to
Western Jin (AD220-265) with early celadon glaze from everted mouth
rim to lower half shoulder. An unglaze band at neck and base
revealed natural firing red. 2 wave patterns beneath the unglaze
neck. The shoulder was decorated with abstract swamp bird with
simple string pattern strap at side.
In China, it was named as "Early Celadon Glaze
Trumpet Vase" due to the shape of the mouth rim. This type of ware
appear in various size and being produced as daily utentsil from
Western Han to Western Jin dynasty.
Although is was from excavation, this vase has
remain exceptional good glaze condition. No chip,crack and restore.
